Position Summary:

The Community Engagement Liaison will work alongside the Manager of Community Relations to facilitate the Franklin County Youth Connection Helpline community presentations and trainings. The Community Liaison will be responsible for identifying specific community partners to engage and facilitate the necessary actions to implement, educate, promote and report grant-funded activities that enhance BHR's position in the community. Building community partnerships can include but are not limited to connecting with Franklin County Community Resource Board providers, school personnel, churches, juvenile court system and other key stakeholders to provide education about youth line services. The liaison will also provide community education and training regarding BHR's mission to help bring awareness of youth services and increase utilization of the youth helpline. As needed, the Community Liaison will also function as part of the outreach team and will provide immediate clinical face-to-face crisis intervention services to any youth 18 and younger who resides in the Franklin County catchment area.

 

Essential Functions:

  1. Provide community education and training programs to Franklin County community partners.
  2. Distribute marketing materials promoting the FCYCH.
  3. Represent BHR to consumers and the community regarding the FCYCH.
  4. Collaborate with Franklin County School Districts, churches, juvenile court system, community agencies and other providers to coordinate trainings/presentations.
  5. Track and report on monthly training activities to report to FCCRB.
  6. Attend community events, media promotions and resource fairs to promote FCYCH.
  7. Able to train and provide engagement strategies in working with a diverse population.
  8. Work with Follow-up Program Manager and Follow-up Coordinators to understand Follow-up Program Procedures.
  9. Gain knowledge of current FCCRB providers programs to aid in community training.
  10. Provide Mobile Outreach services as needed.

 

Education, Experience and Skills Required

  1. Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling Psychiatric Nursing and/or related field.  Provisional or Licensed Clinician Preferred.
  2. One year of CIC experience preferred.
  3. Strong training and/or presentation skills.
  4. Must be willing to have a flexible schedule, which may require weekends and evening hour commitments to promote FCYCH.
  5. Knowledge of Community Resources and Follow-up Program.
  6. Ability to write clinical documentation, conduct mental health assessments and develop client treatment plans.
  7. Must work well individually and with co-workers as part of a team.
  8. Time-management and strong organizational skills.
  9. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  10. Self-motivated and Innovated thinking.
